I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
